BAPS Hindu Temple Abu Dhabi has officially opened its doors to visitors on March 1, and everyone must abide by the following rules while visiting:
Dress code must be appropriate: visitors are advised to wear clothes that cover the shoulders and knees, and offensive slogans are strictly prohibited on clothing. Transparent, semi-transparent or tight-fitting clothing is prohibited.
No pets allowed: Animals are not allowed in the temple buildings.
No outside food or drink allowed: Sattvic food will be served inside the temple.
Use of drones is prohibited: unless prior authorization is obtained from the local authorities and communicated to the staff.
Children alone are prohibited: Children must be accompanied by an adult before entering the temple.
Luggage Regulations: Purses and small personal bags are allowed to be carried into the temple, but no large luggage is allowed inside the temple.
No Dangerous Items: The entrance is equipped with X-ray scanners and metal detectors to detect dangerous items such as knives, lighters and matchboxes.
No Smoking: E-cigarettes and all types of tobacco products are strictly prohibited throughout the temple, including the parking lot.
No Alcohol: Alcohol, including spirits, wine and other alcoholic beverages, is strictly prohibited inside the temple. Visitors in an intoxicated state will be denied entry.
Removal of Shoes: Visitors must remove their shoes before entering the temple and then store them in a designated area.
Cell Phones: While cell phone use and photography are permitted outside the temple, cell phone use for phone calls, selfies or photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple and cell phones must be turned off or set to silent mode.
Wheelchair Access: The temple is equipped with facilities suitable for wheelchair users and priority access will be provided to the disabled at the entrance.
Quietness: Visitors are required to be quiet inside the temple, especially during ceremonies.
Protecting Artwork: Visitors are not allowed to touch the beautiful stone carvings, decorations, paintings on the front and interior of the temple, and writing or drawing on the walls of the temple is strictly prohibited.
Honor the gods: Visitors are not allowed to touch the icons.
Attention to Hygiene: Visitors are requested not to spit or litter inside the temple.
