Over 500, 000 candidates have begun sitting for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across Ghana. The exams which started on Monday, July 08, will run for 1 week. Unlike the previous years, candidates will now write 6 papers
President Akufo-Addo has wished the candidates the best of luck, urging them to remain focused and determined to achieve their goals. The exams are being administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and will determine the candidates' eligibility for senior high school.
The president encouraged the candidates to be confident and showcase their knowledge and skills. He also assured them of his government's commitment to providing quality education for all Ghanaians.
