A senior official in Abu Dhabi has indicated that with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), around 40% of global positions, particularly in logistics, could be replaced.
Sameer Abdullah Naas, Chairman of the Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that employers and employees are embracing new technologies in the workplace.
"People are driven by technology, and they are adapting to it. I have noticed many businesses operating online and using this tool effectively for marketing and promotion through their operations and sales. I think they are adapting well," Naas said during a panel discussion at the 2024 Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) held in Abu Dhabi.
Similarly, Naas, who is also Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized that up to 40% of logistics positions could be replaced by artificial intelligence.
