The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has effectively intercepted multiple cyberattacks orchestrated by terrorist organizations targeting critical sectors within the country, the National Cybersecurity Council confirmed.
The Council disclosed that it has successfully identified the perpetrators behind these cyberterrorism attempts and the specific locations from which the attacks originated. Utilizing robust protection systems and adhering to stringent cybersecurity protocols, authorities swiftly neutralized the threats posed by these malicious actors.
The UAE Cyber Security Council said defences were activated nationwide in co-operation with all relevant authorities.
“These were able to professionally, efficiently, and proactively repel these terrorist cyberattacks and deter anyone who thinks of tampering with the security of the country and its capabilities,” state news agency Wam reported.
Emphasizing the UAE's advanced digital infrastructure, the Council underscored its agility and rapid response capabilities in addressing various forms of cyber threats.
Furthermore, the Council emphasized key cybersecurity practices to safeguard against such attacks, including the protection of personal data, refraining from processing confidential information through unverified channels, utilizing official communication channels, and exercising caution when encountering suspicious emails and links.
The UAE remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining cybersecurity resilience and ensuring the safety and security of its digital ecosystem against threats from cyberterrorism and other malicious activities.
