Rapper Sarkodie has regularly championed a cause of youth empowerment via his music. This year, he takes the goal further supporting burgeoning acts.
Speaking to journalists, at the unveiling of former President John Agyekum Kufuor as patron for the Ghana Job Bank Initiative, he reveals that plans are far advanced as far as the initiative is concerned. The initiative provides a converging point between business owners and potential employees.
Author of five albums and CEO of SarkCess Music, Sarkodie, holds that this new initiative will affect young people positively, and facilitate their journey to mainstream prominence:
“Listening to the president, let me say, I have grown over the years, when I came in initially, obviously we are all kind of frustrated with what we are supposed to do so who do we turn to? The parents are the government. That has always been my approach but I think growing up and maturing till now, I have realized that we need to take things into our own hands. We are actually lucky that it is not too flooded with people taking all the opportunities, we have more than we can explore”, he said.
