BANGKOK NEWS : Thailand's First Casino Opening in 2029 Attracts Global Gaming Giants
Thai media, citing an American website, reported that on the 19th of this month, the CEO of Las Vegas Sands, one of the world’s largest casino and hotel operators, confirmed interest in investing in Thailand. This confirmation came in response to questions from investment banking analysts about the company’s first-quarter 2024 performance.
The CEO stated that Thailand might open its first casino faster than Japan. Some analysts predict that Thailand’s first casino could open by 2029, while Japan’s might open in 2030.
He expressed confidence in this possibility, highlighting Thailand’s appeal on multiple levels, including its population, convenience, and the willingness of people to travel there. He noted that Thailand is the top vacation destination in Asia.
Additionally, a Bloomberg report from June 2023 mentioned that MGM Resorts International and Galaxy Entertainment Group, casino and hotel operators based in Paradise, Clark County, Nevada, are also exploring the possibility of opening casinos in Thailand. Genting Singapore is reportedly interested in bidding for a casino operating license in Thailand as well.
The prospect of Thailand opening its first casino has garnered significant attention from major players in the global casino industry.
