The Volta River Authority (VRA) has announced that the Akosombo Dam is likely to spill excess water in the coming days due to heavy rainfall in the catchment area.
Residents living downstream have been warned to be prepared for possible flooding. The VRA has assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of lives and properties.
The VRA has advised people living in flood-prone areas to evacuate immediately and move to higher grounds. The authority has also deployed teams to monitor the situation and provide support to affected communities.
