Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the Al Khail Road Improvement Project to significantly reduce travel time and improve traffic flow.
The Dh700 million project will achieve its objectives through the construction of five new bridges and widening of the road, and is expected to reduce travel time on Dubai's busy Al Khail Road by 30%.
The Al Khail Road Improvement Project covers a number of key locations along the route, including Zabeel, Meydan, Al Quoz 1, Ghadeer Al Tair and Jumeirah Village Circle.Among other things, the work involves the construction of new bridges up to 3,300 meters in length and roadway improvements at seven key locations along the Al Khail Road for a total length of of 6,820 meters of road improvements at seven key locations on Al Khail Highway. The objective of this comprehensive plan is to increase the capacity of intersections and bridges, which is expected to result in an increase in traffic flow capacity of approximately 19,600 vehicles per hour along Al Khail Road, thereby effectively streamlining traffic flow, eliminating overlapping traffic at intersections, and ensuring overall smooth traffic flow.
