Dubai Banker Quits High-Paying Job to Volunteer at Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi

As the construction of the first traditional Hindu temple in the Middle East gets underway in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, Dubai banker Vishal Patel has taken on the role of a volunteer at the BAPS Hindu temple.

Last year, the 43-year-old man made the surprising decision to resign from his high-paying job in the Dubai International Financial Centre and dedicate himself full-time to serving others at the temple in Abu Dhabi.

Involvement in Various Aspects of Temple Construction

"Since 2016, my family and I have been living in the UAE. Prior to that, career advancement was always my top priority, as I have worked in renowned investment banks and hedge fund companies. But after the UAE supported the construction of this temple, I felt that I could have a greater impact on society," he said.

Since settling in the UAE, Vishal has been actively involved in the construction activities of the temple. He has worked on construction sites, including installing safety barriers, stacking concrete, and providing food for guests and visitors. Now, Vishal serves as the Chief Communications Officer on a voluntary basis, overseeing various tasks, including media relations and strategic communication.
