On 22nd January 2022, Ghana was thrown into a state of shock as a large blast occurred in an area at Appiatse community, near Bogoso. The large blast occurred as a motorcycle went under a truck carrying explosives that was en route to the gold mine at Bogoso.
Two years after the incident, the indigenes have something to be happy about.
The vice president of the Republic of Ghana; Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned a 124-housing unit for the community.
In his address, he emphasized the need to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.
As part of his address, he also praised the president as he said, "Akufo-Addo's commitment and tenacity led to the construction of this new community. He was the first person to donate to the Appiatse community fund. A sign of his commitment to the rebuilding of the community."
