UAE : In Dubai's Jumeirah Palm Island, a British boy found a security guard and expressed his gratitude for saving his life.
Last week, 9-year-old Oliver Jack Bennett returned to Dubai for the second time in 7 months, accompanying his mother on vacation. On his agenda was one "must-do" item: meeting his life-saving hero, Mohammed, a security guard at a building.
According to UAE media reports, Oliver was suffering from bacterial tonsillitis during his two-week vacation, which led to severe tonsil bleeding. His condition was critical. It was Mohammed who called for an ambulance, which promptly took Oliver to the emergency room at Saudi German Hospital in Al Barsha, where timely diagnosis and treatment saved his life.
However, finding Mohammed was no easy task. Oliver's mother said, "At Oliver's request, we went to the building where we rented last time to find him. But he no longer worked there."
When Oliver asked the current security guard about Mohammed's whereabouts, he was met with disappointment as the guard had no information.
But Oliver was determined not to give up. He continued to converse with the on-duty guard, recounting how Mohammed had saved his life.
Luckily, the current guard had heard about the incident.
As it turns out, the current guard also works for the same company (Transguard) as Mohammed. He managed to get in touch with Mohammed, who had been reassigned to another building in the area.
Eventually, Oliver got to meet Mohammed and express his gratitude in person.
Mohammed was deeply moved. He said, "Meeting Oliver made me extremely happy and excited. It's great that he could come to see me."
It is understood that Mohammed is Pakistani, 24 years old, and has been working in Dubai since 2018.
