The UAE has announced the successful delivery of 400 tons of food aid to the people of Gaza, earmarked for the northern part of the Gaza Strip, providing life-saving food assistance to approximately 120,000 people.
Following the allocation of $15 million from the Amalthea Fund to support aid flows in Gaza, the UAE continues to work with international organizations to effectively deliver food and relief by land, air and sea.
To date, the UAE has delivered more than 31,000 tons of emergency humanitarian supplies, including food, relief and medical items, through 256 flights, 46 airdrops, 1,231 trucks and 6 ships.
In addition, the UAE has initiated many other sustainable relief projects to provide food and water to the people of Gaza, establishing five automated bakeries to meet the needs of 72,000 people; and six desalination plants with a total capacity of 1.2 million gallons of water to serve up to 600,000 people per day.
