Mercedes-Benz, the local importer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the UAE, has announced that it is recalling more than 2,500 SUVs to check the gearboxes.
Gargash Enterprises, the local importer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, and Emirates Motor Company, the local importer in Abu Dhabi, noted that the affected models are the 2019-2023 GLS/GLE equipped with the M256 engine and NAG3 automatic transmission.
Mercedes-Benz has determined that on certain GLE/GLS vehicles, the transmission may not meet specifications.
The local authorized importer says 2,521 vehicles are affected.
Dealer Gargash Enterprises confirmed that affected owners have been notified of the recall and said in a statement, "We regret the inconvenience this has caused and thank our customers for their patience and understanding.
