UAE and Chinese Officials Launch Bilateral Law Enforcement Strategic Dialogue
Abu Dhabi, February 21, 2024 (WAM) - His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, warmly welcomed the official visit of Wang Xiaohong, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security of China, along with his delegation to the UAE.
During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Minister Wang Xiaohong held in-depth discussions on the cooperation between the two countries in various fields and further strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of security and law enforcement cooperation.
A plenary meeting was also convened, with the UAE delegation led by His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Chinese delegation led by Minister Wang Xiaohong.
At this meeting, building upon the existing strategic partnership, the two countries launched a law enforcement strategic dialogue aimed at deepening bilateral relations, enhancing the exchange of experiences and knowledge in combating transnational crimes, cybercrimes, and organized crime, and sharing best practices in law enforcement work.
The UAE delegation at the meeting included Major General Khalifa Harib Al Khaili, Deputy Minister of Interior; Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Brigadier General Salim Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services; Brigadier General Hussain Ahmed Al Harthy, Director of Smart Services and Digital Security Department; and Brigadier General Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategic and Performance Development Department, among other senior officials.
The Chinese delegation members included Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of China to the UAE; Sun Guangyu, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council of China; Xu Datong, Deputy Minister of Public Security of China; and Hu Dapeng, Director-General of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security of China.
Also present at the meeting were Hu Binchen, Director-General of the International Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security; Liu Zhongyi, Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security; and Tan Quan, Director-General of the Network Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, along with other department heads from the Ministry of Public Security of China.
