For many travelers planning a trip to Europe, the first step isn't budgeting or checking flights; it's determining whether a visa is required.
Attention all travelers: The application fees for Schengen visas will increase by 12.5% starting this June.
The European Union Commission has notified that the adult visa fee will rise from €80 (AED 319) to €90 (AED 358), while the child visa fee will increase from €40 (AED 159) to €45 (AED 179).
The statement additionally mentions that the new visa fees will come into effect on June 11. According to records from the Official Journal of the European Union, the decision to increase visa fees by 12.5% was made based on the overall inflation rate in the EU and the development of the weighted average salaries of civil servants in member states from July 1, 2020, to July 1, 2023.
