Dubai, UAE – Belgian-Turkish siblings, Berdan and Kadir, famously known as the Kalin Brothers, have skyrocketed to internet fame with their captivating dance videos, amassing an astonishing 150 million views.
In today's social media-driven world, trends spread like wildfire, and fame can be achieved in an instant. The Kalin Brothers' short and dynamic dance moves have captured the hearts of millions worldwide, showcasing not only their talent but also their ability to connect with audiences of all ages and nationalities.
Their videos, primarily shared on Instagram, have garnered an astounding 150 million views, solidifying their status as internet sensations.
During their recent visit to Dubai, we had the opportunity to sit down with the brothers and reflect on their journey to fame, tracing it back to their childhood in Belgium. Raised in both Turkey and Belgium, their parents encouraged them to participate in extracurricular activities from a young age.
"We were those kids who danced everywhere," recalls 25-year-old Berdan. "Our parents harbored dreams for us; mom hoped we'd become dancers, while dad saw us as warriors. They combined the two, and that's how it all began," adds his 20-year-old brother, Kadir. "They wanted us to explore different things, always saying, 'Our sons will conquer the world.'"
In an era where everyone aims to shine as content creators on social media platforms, what sets the Kalin Brothers apart? Reflecting on this, they remark, "We believe it's because we are authentic and spontaneous in our videos. We don't overthink what to do; we just go with the flow. That's why our videos resonate with people."
"The lifestyle has completely changed. We have to be cautious about everything because in the age of social media, even the smallest things are documented and watched. People only see a short video clip and make judgments based on that, so we have to be careful. But that's also part of the game."
While the world often sees the surface success on social media, challenges abound behind the scenes. "People see a 15-second video but don't see the hardships and sweat behind it... When you're just starting out and have no results to show for your efforts, you still need to persevere. We believe in ourselves, even if others don't."
Their videos shot at Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa have already garnered 60 million views, with the city's vibrant energy and clear skies serving as an ideal backdrop for their creativity and exploration. "The people here, the hospitality, the food, the weather – everything is amazing. Dubai is the ideal place for our work. We're creating a lot of content here, meeting other content creators, and enjoying everything the city has to offer. We're very open to moving to Dubai in the future."
Stay tuned for more updates on the Kalin Brothers' journey as they continue to inspire and entertain audiences worldwide.
