The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive and Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, has denied allegations of raising political temperatures in the area.
He has been accused of raising political tensions by removing posters of the flagbearer of the NDC. This, the opposition has tagged as unacceptable. But he claims he is committed to peaceful politics.
In responding to the allegation, he released a statement that says, “these allegations are unfounded and indeed a figment of the authors own imagination”
He further explained that the municipal, as enshrined in the constitution, is supposed to be politically neutral. The removal of the posters therefore is in response to public complaints and the municipals efforts to be non-partisan
“Since the erection of the said Political Flexy a couple of days ago, the TMA has been inundated with several complaints from members of the public with a call on management to demonstrate its non-partisan stance by re-enforcing its neutrality in matters of this nature since that location is the forecourt of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly”
