Dubai real estate: Chinese and Indian buyers demand feng shui compliant homes
Indian and Chinese property buyers are showing increasing interest and demand for Feng Shui compliant properties in Dubai.
Real estate insiders say that there are some feng shui compliant homes in Dubai, but developers do not make this a hard and fast criterion when building properties.
The fundamental part of feng shui is energy called qi. Feng shui is based on techniques that create a natural balance and a positive flow of this energy into surroundings to create abundance, and positive energy. Feng shui is said to balance the relationship between nature and the dwelling spaces. It is said to balance the energy so that it brings good fortune and good health to the home dwellers, while the negative energy is channeled out or “cured” as not to affect the family living in the home in a harmful way.
Dubai's overall real estate market has seen unprecedented growth over the past two years, with buyers from different cultures around the world flocking to the city to purchase homes, driving prices to record highs. Indian buyers topped the list last year, while Chinese buyers were also among the top 10.
"There is a real growing interest in feng shui compliant homes in Dubai, especially among Indian and Chinese buyers. We have received a large number of enquiries about such homes." An industry source said.
"It is challenging to find homes that are fully Feng Shui compliant. Therefore clients need to decide for themselves how much compromise they can make in this regard ...... Due to the high occupancy rate in Dubai, the demand for fully feng shui compliant residences outstrips the supply."
"There is no difference in price between Feng Shui compliant and non-compliant homes."
"Developers do not categorize properties based on this characteristic (whether they are Feng Shui compliant or not), however, owners usually seek a higher price when reselling."
