The Eighth Session of China-UAE Joint Economic and Trade Committee Held in Abu Dhabi


According to the Ministry of Commerce website, on February 27th, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and UAE Minister of Economy MarIyi co-chaired the Eighth Session of the China-UAE Joint Economic and Trade Committee in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The two sides exchanged views on accelerating the implementation of important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and jointly promoting in-depth exchanges on the high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road" between China and the UAE.

Wang Wentao stated that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the UAE. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Muhammad, the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has entered a new stage, and bilateral economic and trade cooperation has continuously achieved new results. China appreciates the UAE's efforts in preparing for the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization and welcomes the UAE's active participation in China's support for the high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road" through eight actions. China is willing to work with the UAE to enhance trade levels, explore investment highlights, stimulate innovation vitality, and jointly create a new pattern of comprehensive and three-dimensional economic and trade cooperation between China and the UAE.

MarIyi expressed that under the care and promotion of the leaders of both countries, UAE-China relations have made significant progress, and bilateral economic and trade cooperation has yielded fruitful results. The UAE appreciates China's strong support for hosting the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization and believes that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative will promote greater development of UAE-China economic and trade cooperation.

After the meeting, the two sides jointly signed the minutes of the meeting and investment cooperation documents in the field of digital economy. Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Zhang Yiming and representatives from relevant departments and enterprises of both sides attended the meeting.
