UAE Condemns Sydney Shopping Center Attack; Expresses Condolences to Victims

In the wake of a tragic incident at a Sydney shopping center, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has voiced its condemnation.

The event, occurring on the 13th of the month, resulted in the loss of seven lives, including the perpetrator, with 12 individuals hospitalized. Australian authorities disclosed that the assailant, a 40-year-old man from Queensland, was struggling with mental health issues.

Highlighting the international dimension, Australia confirmed the death of one Chinese national and severe injuries to another, both international students. This further amplifies the gravity of the situation.


Responding promptly, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement vehemently denouncing the violence against innocents. It reaffirmed the UAE's staunch opposition to all forms of terrorism and violence, which undermine peace, stability, and international law.

The Ministry extended heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the Australian government, its citizens, and the victims' families. Additionally, it wished a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.
