According to data released by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources, by the end of 2023, the number of Emiratis employed in the private sector had reached nearly 96,000, marking a new historical record.
Since 2021, there has been a remarkable 170% increase in Emiratis working in the private sector.
A study conducted by the human resources solutions company TASC revealed that 77.65% of Emiratis are utilizing the Nafis program for job hunting, with 56.64% believing it to be beneficial for their careers.
Reportedly, the majority of Emiratis (73.67%) are satisfied with their current jobs. When considering job opportunities, 62.8% prioritize work-life balance, 59% prioritize job security, and 58.4% prioritize career advancement prospects.
Furthermore, 52.3% of employers are willing to offer permanent employment to Emiratis.
Employers have indicated a focus on Emiratization across various positions, including customer service (42.40%) and marketing (42.05%) roles. Operational positions are also in demand, with 33.57% of employers actively seeking Emiratis to fill these roles.
The surge in Emiratis joining the private sector reflects a positive trend towards economic diversification and localization of the workforce in the UAE. As the country continues to prioritize initiatives aimed at enhancing Emirati employment opportunities, such as the Nafis program, it is expected that this upward trajectory will persist, further strengthening the nation's economy and fostering sustainable growth.
