UAE NEWS : Hair Loss Concerns Grip Nearly 66% of Men in the UAE

HAIR LOSS UAE

In the UAE, thousands of residents are grappling with the effects of hair loss. Professionals suggest that shedding more than 75 strands of hair per day could be an early sign of hair loss.

Dr. C Vijay Krishna, an expert at the Dermatology and Aesthetic Center at Thumbay University Hospital, explains that shedding around 50 strands of hair per day is normal. "People typically shed around 50-75 strands of hair per day. However, when someone loses approximately 75 to 100 strands, it could be an early indication of hair loss... Increased hair loss is often noticeable during activities like combing or showering."

Dr. Iman Salah Youssef El-Habyan, a dermatologist at Zulekha Hospital in Dubai, reveals that nearly 66% of men in the UAE are facing hair loss issues. "In the UAE, two out of every three men are experiencing hair loss, and what's concerning is that many of them are under the age of 30. Women, on the other hand, typically experience hair loss during puberty, which exacerbates over time."

The prevalence of hair loss among men in the UAE underscores the importance of seeking early intervention and treatment options to address this common concern.
